OK so this weekend was soo much fun. Because of the PRD rallies (a political party here), we weren't able to go to museums for our excursion on friday so instead, we went to this place called Tlaxtpan and climbed a huge mountain!!! OMG, I felt like i was part of the scenery from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. some more pics!!

at the top, still cant believe i made it

Kim and Aileen, those FOBS!!!

Abhi and I showing our royal cups !!!

It was soo beautiful and the next day, my legs were killing me. So on the top were these little animals that looked like a cross between a badger and an anteater, who stole my lunch and ran away from it. I wasn't sure if i was more angry or shocked. But this other guy on the trip tried to feed one and it bit him. The next day he had to go to the hospital and get a rabies shot.

On saturday, I went to the zoo and I must say that i saw the most depressing animals there. THere was this panda that was just sitting in the corner not doing anything. I was so tempted of breaking in and saving the panda and bringing it back to China!!! We also walked along the beautiful park in the area.

Roommate pics, Happy b'day rachael!!

asian loving!!

sad from seeing all thos epoor animals

Me posing with the cheap track jacket i bought * woot!!!

That night we went to the Italian restaurant (yes i know, it wasn't mexican) for Rachael's birthday and it was one of the best meals that I had here surprisingly. We got sooo much food and  3 huge desserts!!! think this, apple crisp pie, strawberry chocalate cake and creme brulee... mmmm it was really good and I'm gonna come back all fat haha .

so much good food!!!

So I have one more week here in mexico, and I have total mix feelings. I'm gonna miss the cheapness, but yet I'm excited to get chinese food again!!! We're going out to eat tomorrow for my roommate´s Anthony's b'day and going to San Miguel this Wednesday where I'm gonna go mountain biking and after... hot springs woot!!! And sadly after, packing to go back to the States.

wow... so far this day has been pretty interesting... for those who have been reading my updates from Mexico, you know that I have been going to an Acupuncture Clinic to do our research on the effectiveness of acupuncture to reduce pain levels. Well, considering that today was our last day at the Clinic, we all decided to get acupuncture ourselves. It was the weirdest experience I have felt in a long time. Our mentor gave us acupuncture to relax our body and put 5 needles in us: 2 in the feet, 2 in the forearm and 1 on the top of our head. Unlike what people say, they HURT when they went in. For 30 minutes after, we were supposed to relax and lay on a bed. Everytime I tried to move my body, a jolt of pain and numbness went throughout my body. I gave up and didn't move for the remainder of the time. When they finally took them out, I felt so weak and felt like I would never be able to walk again. Slowly, I could feel my legs again and now I feel very mellow... So I guess it kind of worked if you think a mellow and relax state are the same. The doctor said that this was supposed to last for the next month... shoot... I wonder how this will affect me mountain bike riding next week... hopefully i won't die

OMG, so 2 more weeks and counting... I'm having so many mixed feelings right now. On one hand, I never wanna leave this place, it's amazing the wonders that Mexico offers once you get out of the city and into the countryside... plus the cheap good food aint bad either. I'm still amazed about how much experience I've gained here and how I'm actually able to communicate w/ the locals and even haggle w/ the venders. To think that I knew no spanish 1 month ago... On the other hand, I am ready to go home... something just doesn't feel right w/o a huge bowl of watermelon on the table and the smell of chinese cooking. It has been amazing here and I have met so many different type of people from the program. It's funny what the world is like outside of Asian central and the world of pre'meds and engineers... Well enough of my babbling, this past weekend was awesome!!! I was finally able to get some souvenir shopping in. ON friday, I went to Coyaucan and Zocalo, two of the biggest markets in the city... there were some awesome things and I was able to get a really cool gift for my bro-in-law... alcoholic coco flavored cactus drink... have YOU even heard of that?!?!. On Saturday, lisa and I went to Taxco, about 3 hrs away from bus and I must say... that it is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever seen. Taxco is known for its beautiful silver, so i made sure to buy some good ol' jewelry for the family... But besides that, the view was absolutely amazing. After climbing the steep streets for what seemed like hours, we finally made it to la Iglesia de Guadalupe. There, we had an amazing view of the entire city... it was a sentimental moment for me haha... Yesterday, I returned to the market by my house and finally got myself a soccer track jacket, the lady selling them remembered me from before and gave me half off... I was a happy man

2 more weeks till returning back to the land of USA... its going to be weird speaking english and especially chinese again...
